The thing that upsets markets most is bad news on banks. And we have it overnight with dexia. Expect this story to dominate this morning. The market is trying to stop and range this side of Christmas but the negative sentiment is building. Euro is still above 1.34 but the equity markets are looking sick. Maybe a small bounce first thing but the market is still a sell on any rally.

when will that “unfilled” gap on the s&p at 1208 to 1213 get filled?

That gap is long gone. If the gap does not close on the day I forget about it.
Today’s gap is at 1182 and plenty of bad news around. Going to be interesting
